It's time to start your marathon training!
Oman’s biggest annual sporting event, the Al Mouj Muscat Marathon, is back next year on February 11th and 12th, in Al Mouj Muscat.
The event, which is now being managed by Sabco Sports in collaboration with Oman Sail, will have a number of different categories, including the 42.1 km, 21.2 km, and the 10 km marathons which will be held on day 1. Day 2 will include the 5 km charity run and the kids’ race where children can choose between the 3 km, 2 km, and the 1 km.
Sabco Sports Managing Director Nic Cartwright told Virgin Radio Oman that while planning the event under the COVID pandemic does come with its challenges, the government-mandated Coronavirus restrictions actually make it easier to manage the big crowd on the day of the event, adding that Sabco Sports will be ready to tackle any last-minute changes that may arise due to the ongoing pandemic.
