Doctor in Oman Suspended Due to Fatal Case of Medical Negligence

The MoH released a statement regarding the death of Muneera Al Maqbali.

The Ministry of Health (MoH) issued a statement saying that they are following up on the case of Omani citizen Muneera Al Maqbali, who died during surgery at Gulf Specialized Hospital in Muscat, as a result of medical negligence, adding that the doctor who performed the operation was suspended until investigations are finished.

Gulf Specialized Hospital also released a statement explaining that the surgeon who performed the surgery was only renting one of the hospital’s operating rooms and was not affiliated with them.

The deceased’s sister said that the doctor performing the surgery admitted to them himself, that he had made a mistake before offering them his condolences.
