Firefighters in Oman Continue Battling Blaze That Broke Out Last Night

12 February 2026

Efforts are continuing in the Ras Al Harq area of Al Hamra.

Firefighting efforts are continuing in the Ras Al Harq area of Al Hamra in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, after a fire in grass and trees broke out Wednesday evening.

The Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority (CDAA) said its firefighting teams in Al Dakhiliyah, working in cooperation with Police Aviation, have been dealing with the fire since it started “yesterday evening”, with efforts still ongoing.

In a further update, CDAA said teams are making intensive efforts to extinguish the blaze in cooperation with relevant authorities and citizens.

The Environment Authority (EA) said it activated its emergency centre immediately after receiving reports of the incident, allowing continuous field monitoring and close tracking of developments at the site.

EA also confirmed intensive coordination with the Royal Oman Police, the Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority, and other concerned bodies, while environmental teams in Al Dakhiliyah carry out on-site monitoring to assess any potential environmental impact and implement precautionary measures.

No additional official details have been issued at this time, and efforts remain ongoing.
