First drive-in cinema in Oman is Opening Soon

11 June 2020

The idea came as a response to ensure that social distancing is implemented in all public spaces.

It has been a dreadful couple of months for all movie lovers who love having the cinematic experience when watching the latest movie. The arrival of the pandemic has made it difficult to maintain social distancing in closed spaces such as small spaces forcing theaters to remain shut during these times. Good news is, Oman’s drive through cinema is the solution to all of these problems!

Oman drive-in cinema is designed to accommodate 500 cars, from which audiences can watch movies in 4K resolution on two individuals screens size 9×16-metre screen equivalent to the height of a five -storey building and wide up to 8 storey building .

Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Zadjali, CEO of the project, said that there’s a plan to open two additional drive-in venues in Muscat this July, but the location of the cinema is yet to be announced.

More Details:

  • The space will be equipped with 40 fans to cool the entire area.
  • Booking can be done online and choose either VIP or regular locations (the venue has allocated areas for cars based on their model. So if you roll in a low sports car you’ll be right in the front, and SUVs will be in the cack to ensure good screen visibility for everyone.
  • Just when you thought that it docent get any better.. food and drinks will be served and a FREE car wash!! It’s available as part of the ticket package.
  • We all need a break from everyone every once in a while so you can go on your own, but theres a maximum of two customers per car.
