His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik gave a royal speech today, on the occasion of the anniversary of his accession to power.
During his speech, he said that he is doing his very best to build a prosperous future for the people of Oman, and he stressed the importance of the youth in building that future, adding that the government has a keen interest in investing in the country’s youth.
His Majesty the Sultan said that the Sultanate will continue to move forward, guided by the Oman Vision 2040, and he commended the country’s efforts in recruiting Omani job seekers, saying that the government managed to employ a large number of them, despite the difficulties and challenges that the country witnessed in the past two years.
He added that the government will continue to help recruit those who are qualified and that it will train those who are unqualified, to help them join the labor market.
His Majesty the Sultan called on Omanis to invest their capital locally, and he directed the government to speed up the rate of developing the early warning system and to endorse the best urban planning schemes that will minimize the impact of extreme climatic conditions.
Finally, His Majesty called on Omanis to open up to the world in a balanced and objective manner, while still taking pride in their identity, and sticking to their country’s values and principles.
