HM Sultan Haitham Hosts Supreme Committee Meeting and Orders Establishment of Central Public Health Laboratory

At the beginning of the meeting, His Majesty praised the governments efforts in containing this pandemic, and expressed his total satisfaction with the role of the Supreme Committee and the measures it has taken during the past period. He also expressed his appreciation of the efforts of everyone who have helped the Sultanate cope with the pandemic, especially health workers, the Sultan’s Armed Forces, the Royal Oman Police, security services in various locations, other state institutions, the private sector, and all citizens and residents. In addition, His Majesty expressed his appreciation for the awareness efforts undertaken by various media outlets, and for all the initiatives that contribute to the national effort to deal with this pandemic.

His Majesty the Sultan stressed that the main goal in the Sultanate, since the first case of this pandemic, is to protect all citizens and residents who live in Oman and to minimize the impact on all sectors by protecting the Omani economy and continuing private sector activities.

His Majesty indicated that due to the persistence of this situation, and the lack of adequate treatment for COVID-19 until now, it has become important to coexist and adapt to these new situations gradually, which is only achieved by the solidarity of all members of society, and following all necessary precautions and preventive measures.

His Majesty has ordered the establishment of a new central public health laboratory, to keep pace with technical development and modern technical systems, and to meet requirements under any circumstances.
