Introducing Miss Universe 2018, Catriona Gray!

It was an intense 3 hours of finding out who would be crowned Miss Universe 2018, but finally Catriona Gray, Miss Philippines was crowned!

The 67th Miss Universe competition was held in Bangkok, Thailand and 94 different countries and territories participated in the pageant. The top five countries were: Miss Puerto Rico, Miss South Africa, Miss Philippines, Miss Venezuela and Miss Vietnam.

Miss Philippines, Catriona Gray has been crowned as this year’s Miss Universe. This is the fourth time Philippines has won Miss Universe.

Here are some interesting facts about the newest Miss Universe!

Catriona Gray is half-Scottish, half-Filipino and grew up in Australia. When Catriona Gray was 13 her mother envisioned that she would win the Miss Universe crown in a red gown, and lo-and behold Miss Catriona was wearing a red grown the night she won!

Catriona is an avid traveler and writes about her explorations  in her travel blog, Cat’elle. She is not new to the world of beauty pageants, when she was five years old when she joined her first pageant in Sydney, Australia.

Catriona is a holder of a master’s certificate in Music Theory from the Berklee College of Music in Boston. Catriona is a singer and songwriter, she even has a single called ‘We’re In This Together’. At the age of twelve she earner her black belt in Choi Kwang-Do, making her one martial artist you do not want to mess with!

Catriona has strong hopes and goals of ending poverty in the Philippines and has her own project called ‘Paraiso: The Bright Beginnings Project’, that helps raise money for children’s education.
