Our favorite funnyman is making a comeback this September
Jim Carrey’s been in a bunch of movies, some might have shaped your childhood and become your favorite, but over the past few years he’s been laying low. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Jim Carrey has opened up and revealed the real reason why he decided to take a step back from Hollywood.
He said: “I just didn’t want to be in the business anymore, I didn’t like what was happening, the corporations taking over and all that.”
Jim Carrey goes on to say: “And maybe it’s because I felt pulled toward a different type of creative outlet and I really liked the control of painting — of not having a committee in the way telling me what the idea must be to appeal to a four-quadrant whatever.”
“My plan was not to join Hollywood, it was to destroy it. Like, take a gigantic sledgehammer to the leading man and to all the seriousness.”
He has a new show coming out on September 9th called ‘Kidding’ which is about a actor named Mr. pickles who experiences a tragic downfall after building a multi-million dollar branding empire from nothing.
