26 films, 9 awards, one big stage.
Oman is rolling out the red carpet for the Gulf Cinema Festival 2025, taking place from November 16 to 19 at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre (OCEC). The four-day celebration of regional film is organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth.
The festival will screen 26 Gulf films competing across nine award categories, including feature, short, and documentary films.

H.E. Sayyid Said Sultan Al Busaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry for Culture, said the event aligns with Oman’s Cultural Strategy 2021–2040, which aims to strengthen cultural leadership and collaboration across the Gulf.
“This festival promotes Gulf cinema, artistic exchange, and the shared cultural identity of the region,” he said.
H.E. Al Busaidi added that the initiative highlights the ministry’s commitment to growing creative industries and empowering youth to contribute to a cinema movement that reflects the realities and aspirations of Gulf societies.

Awards will be presented for:
- Best Feature Film
- Best Documentary Film
- Best Short Film
- Best Original Score
- Best Actor
- Best Actress
- Best Screenplay
- Best Director
- Best Cinematography
The festival is expected to attract leading Omani and Gulf artists, filmmakers, writers, and media professionals, alongside regional and international cinema enthusiasts.
With its mix of screenings, networking, and creative collaboration, the Gulf Cinema Festival 2025 will mark a milestone in Oman’s growing role as a hub for arts and culture in the region.
