Get your 'Go Lara Go' banners ready, because we are definitely rooting for this young Omani swimmer!
Sixteen year old Lara Al Yafei is making history, becoming the first ever female Omani swimmer to compete at any Olympics event. Lara came in third place in the opening 50m breaststroke event (Go Lara Go!).
Lara is at the front line of advocating for more girls to join swimming competitively.
Earlier on Chad in the Morning, Lara sent us one of her audio blogs chronicling the start of her adventure at the 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires, Argentina which started on October 6th.
You can even check out the website Lara has established as a platform for Muslim female swimmers to share their stories and experience: http://tasbahee.com/#home
