MoH announced that COVID-19 vaccines will be given to all target groups for free.
The Ministry of Health (MoH) said that Coronavirus vaccines in Oman will be given to all target segments free of charge, adding that the national vaccination campaign will take place in two phases. The first phase aims to vaccinate 30% of the population by the end of August, while the second phase will target 40%, meaning that by the end of the year, 70% of the Sultanate’s population will be immunized against COVID-19.
Some private sector companies in Oman paid for their employees’ vaccinations, as part of their social responsibility and their contribution to the country’s Corona Fund.
The ministry also clarified how the price of COVID-19 vaccine doses was determined, saying that it calculated the cost of the vaccine itself, shipping charges, storage costs, and logistical fees based on the type of vaccine and the requirements of the manufacturing companies.
