Muscat Municipality announced that three more areas in Muscat, will be included in the paid parking zone starting from March 6, 2022. The new additions include:
- The parking lots around the new Al Khoudh market, behind the Ooredoo store.
- The car parks next to the Sultan Qaboos Street in South Al Khuwair and opposite the commercial buildings.
- The parking area that surrounds the Sultan Mosque in Ruwi.
Officials said this was done due to the increase in the number of vehicles, and to eliminate the issue of abandoning cars in parking lots. They also urged people to pay for parking via SMS, by sending the number and code of the vehicle and the number of minutes required (Minimum of 30 minutes ad maximum of 300 minutes) to 90091.
