Oman: Fisherman Given Precautions & Warnings of Cyclone Kyarr

Oman Observer reports on the latest development of Tropical Cyclone Kyarr

The Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries (MoAF) advised the fishermen and sea goers to avoid trips out into the sea and to follow the latest and updated bulletin on tropical cyclone (Kyarr) from the National Multi-Hazard Early Warning Centre.

Rough seas are expected along the coastal areas of South Al-Sharqiya, Al-Wusta and Dhofar. The maximum wave height is between 3 and 5 meters with chances of seawater flooding over low-level coastal areas.

The sea state will be rough to moderate over the rest of the coastal areas the maximum wave height will be between 2 and 3 meters with moderate to rough sea conditions.

PACA even released an info-graphic on steps to take in case of extreme storm surge.
