The Henley Passport Index ranked the Sultanate’s passport 64th most powerful in the world this year, as opposed to 71st in 2021.

The index is based on the number of destinations their holders can access without requiring a visa, and as per the report, Omani passport holders can visit 80 countries without needing one.

In the GCC, the UAE ranked first, and 15th globally, with 175 visa-free destinations, then came Qatar with a ranking of 53, followed by Kuwait (54), Bahrain (62), Oman (64), and Saudi Arabia (65).

Omanis get visa-free access to a number of countries including Malaysia, Bosnia, Thailand, Georgia, Lebanon, Morroco, Singapore, the Bahamas, and Jordan, and they can get a visa on arrival in places like Iran, Yemen, and Armenia.

Locals can also get into the UK, Pakistan, New Zealand, and several other countries using an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA).
