More than 100 artists performed from their living rooms in the 8-hour concert.
Some big artists in music have joined forces to celebrate healthcare workers in a globally televised concert last night. The concert is titled One World: Together At Home, and was organised by the Global Citizen movement and the World Health Organization (WHO).
Paul McCartney, Beyonce and Billie Eilish were among more than 100 artists who performed from their living rooms. The Rolling Stones even managed to play together from four separate locations.
Lady Gaga selected and organized the line up and dedicated the show to first responders and medical staff. The concert was split into two parts, with a six hour pre-show streamed on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube; followed by the main two-hour show shown on all three of the main US TV networks. Talk show hosts Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon hosted the main portion of the show.
It began with a montage of people applauding the efforts of healthcare workers around the world with the caption “to all of our frontline healthcare workers, we are with you. Thank you for being there for us.”
Some of the artists that performed are Niall Horan, Taylor Swift, Celine Dion, Liam Payne, The Killers, Billie Eilish, Rita Ora, Ellie Goulding, Jennifer Lopez and more. John Legend and Sam Smith also teamed up for an amazing performance.
