Supreme Committee Announces Lockdown between Governorates between July 25 to August 8

Movement will also not be permitted between 7 PM to 6 AM and all public places and shops will be closed during this time.

The Supreme Committee in charge of dealing with COVID-19 held a meeting today, Tuesday, headed by His Excellency Mr. Hammoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi, Minister of the Interior.

In view of the increase in the number of people infected with COVID-19, to limit its spread, to protect members of society and support the health sector and enhance their ability to cope with it, the Committee decided to completely close the governorates of the Sultanate from Saturday, July 25, 2020 to Saturday August 8, 2020.

It also decided to prevent movement and the closure of all public places and shops from 7 PM to 6 AM. Its been further clarified that there will be intensified patrolling and points of control in the daytime.

The Committee affirms the continued prevention of gatherings of all kinds, especially Eid prayers, traditional Eid markets (landings), greeting gatherings and collective celebrations.
