He also premiered a new song.

The Weeknd made his debut on the latest episode of American Dad as the cartoon version of himself. He also premiered a new song that was written for American Dad, which aired on Monday.

The Weeknd said that he wanted to make fun of himself and play a character that was the opposite of the public’s perception of himself. He claims that he took complete advantage of the opportunity once he was presented with it by writer/producer Joel Hurwitz, who he says believed in him.

The Weeknd shared that he loves doing voice overs and that he’s eager to land a guest appearance on another iconic animated series. He explained that it’s going to be hard to beat American Dad in the TV cartoon world, but an obvious bucket list would be to work on The Simpsons.
