16 May 2021

Oman is most likely safe from the tropical cyclone that formed in the Arabian Sea.

Oman’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) announced that tropical cyclone Tauktae, which formed in the east of the Arabian Sea, is not expected to hit Oman, adding that the cyclone, which has a wind speed of around 70-80 knots (or 130-150 km/h), is predicted to make landfall on the Indian/Pakistani coasts on May 18.

Omani seas are expected to be moderately rough from May 17 to May 19 along most of the coasts, with expected wave height ranging between 2-4 meters.
