A major new step has been taken in shaping what Greater Muscat will look like in the years ahead.
Muscat’s future has officially taken a major step forward.
Under Royal Directives, His Highness Sayyid Bilarab bin Haitham Al Said, Minister of State and Governor of Muscat, patronised the official launch ceremony of the Greater Muscat Structural Plan, marking a major milestone in the long-term vision for the capital region.
The launch was held at the Experience and Sales Centre in Sultan Haitham City in the Wilayat of Seeb, in what signals a defining moment for the way Greater Muscat is expected to grow and evolve in the years ahead.
More than just a planning document, the Greater Muscat Structural Plan is expected to act as a comprehensive framework for the sustainable growth and expansion of the capital. It is designed to support modern urban development, guide future expansion, and enhance quality of life in line with Oman’s broader long-term development ambitions.
In simple terms, this is the kind of plan that shapes how a city lives, moves, expands, and improves over time.
From housing and infrastructure to urban experience and future growth, the plan is expected to play a key role in defining the next phase of Muscat’s development, while ensuring that expansion is approached in a more strategic, connected, and sustainable way.
For a city that continues to grow in ambition as much as scale, the launch of the Greater Muscat Structural Plan sets the tone for what could be one of the most important development chapters in the capital’s future.
