Billie Eilish Was Almost Sent to Therapy over Justin Bieber Obsession

While we can all relate to a celebrity obsession (Zayn Malik, you broke our hearts), Billie Eilish’s childhood crush on Justin Bieber was so extreme that her parents considered sending her to therapy.

Billie revealed her prior obsession on her Apple Music radio show Me & Dad Radio that she co-hosts with her dad, Patrick O’Connell. Eilish apparently would play Bieber’s songs on repeat during car trips and would cry instantly when they were played.

“I remember this one really well and the video, and Billie talking about it, and being excited it was coming out, and just crying and crying,” her mom said in regards to Bieber’s single As Long As You Love Me. Her mom then admitted  “I just want to say, we did consider taking you to therapy because you were in so much pain over Justin Bieber.”

The story obviously has a happy ending; Billie eventually became friends with Bieber who even instagrammed a pic of a younger Billie in her room, walls covered with posters of him.
