The shade was in response to Beyoncé’s words on another song.
TikTok kids, it’s about to get lit. Doja Cat cooked up the remix to “say so” with Nicki Minaj and dropped it over the weekend. Doja announced the new track on an Instagram post on Wednesday, saying “YOU ASKED FOR IT” and “I LOVE YOU” to Nicki.
At one point in the song, Nicki throws shade at an unnamed woman who fans think is Beyoncé. Nicki Minaj raps: “Why you talkin’ bout who body fake? With all the fillers in your face, you just full of hate,” and throws some more shade in other lines.
Fans suggested the lyrics were in response to Beyoncé’s words on the “Savage” remix, which came out two days earlier, where she raps about being natural.
